Golf club hosts its first Open Mic Night
WELLS Golf Club continued its 125th year celebrations and events programme development with its first ever Open Mic Night in May.
Hosted by Ross Kirk , enthusiastic and supportive spectators were treated to a wide spectrum of local musical talent including jazz, folk, pop and even heavy metal.
Ross, who has been hosting Open Mic Night events in the Wells area for nearly 15 years, said: “I am delighted to be bringing this event to Wells Golf Club on a regular basis.The clubhouse bar is a perfect venue with generous space, balcony views and an affordable menu for a very enjoyable evening.
“Our second Open Mic Night will be at Wells Golf Club on Thursday, June 14, at 7.30pm, so whether you’re an accomplished musician, just starting out, or a keen spectator, just come along. There’s no charge for spectators or musicians and you’re guaranteed a terrific night.”
Other forthcoming events in the clubhouse include quiz nights regularly held at the end of each month, with teams of four to six people determinedly competing to move up the leader board. Starting at 7.30pm, the £8 entry fee includes a meal provided during a half-time interval.
Other thriving culinary events include monthly Gourmet Nights, Wednesday Pudding Nights and a Sunday Lunch Carvery.
