New local beer brand launches debut beer
NEW local beer brand Wookey Ale has launched its signature debut beer Witch Way Home, named after the infamous Witch of Wookey Hole.
Wookey Ale is the brainchild of Samuel Mills. The beer-lover lives in Wookey Hole and dreamed of having a local beer available in the local pubs, so he decided to launch one himself.
Covid has not dampened the launch of the new ale - Witch Way Home will be available at The Ring O’ Bells in Wookey, The City Arms in Wells, The Well Inn at Shepton Mallet, The Crown in Glastonbury and The Oakhouse Hotel in Axbridge when the pubs reopen their doors after the Covid lockdown.
Samuel said: “We had great feedback during a recent outdoor tasting that we held with Soul Dough pizzas and we are delighted with the local support that we’ve had for the beer. The beer is full of flavour, but at 4% ABV it’s the perfect session ale.
“We’ve been gutted to see the pubs closing for the second time this year. The pubs are the hub of the community in Wells and the surrounding villages and we are looking forward to them reopening and seeing Witch Way Home available on draft across the local area.”
The beer is also available for home delivery in five, nine and 18-pint ‘brewery fresh’ boxes, which are available for free delivery to the Wells area.
