BEATLES fan Joann Parsons has opened a vinyl record and memorabilia store in Wells.

Ziggys Vinyl Destination, in Tucker Street, at the former premises of The Alchemists Tea Emporium, also has antiques, toys and T-shirts for sale.

“I love vintage stuff. I’m a bit like one of those hoarders – you get addicted,” said Joann, who lives in Polsham. “I’ve got loads of Beatles stuff. I love the Beatles.”

Joann fell for The Beatles while playing records before selling them to make sure that they were not scratched. She said: “I can’t get enough of The Beatles now. And they sell so well. They never let me down.”

One of the more expensive items in her store is a Beatles second state butcher cover which has a price tag of £475, while an original vinyl promo for the band is on sale at £450. She also has rare David Bowie memorabilia, and 400 Elvis Presley records.

Joann once worked at Reeve the Baker in Wells High Street before it was taken over by Mountstevens. She is a regular at the antiques fairs held in the town hall, and had a section at Wells Antique Centre in Mill Street before deciding that she needed more space.
