Sponsorship aim with new seating at Wells Little Theatre
VISITORS to Wells Little Theatre’s pantomime in December will have noticed one big difference to their theatre experience.
New seating has been installed throughout the auditorium as part of an ongoing programme of improvement works at the venue.
The previous seats were installed in the early 1990s and were second-hand from the Bath Theatre Royal. They were looking very tired, worn out and were in many cases becoming uncomfortable.
The all-new seats were specially made for the theatre and fitted just before the pantomime and should last for many years to come.
A fundraising campaign has now been launched to help recoup some of the £36,000 cost of the new seating.
People can sponsor a seat and have their name or a short message engraved onto a plaque which is placed in the arm of the chair.
Many seats have already been sold and sponsorship is available for £50 per seat. To find out which seats are still available or to sponsor one, contact firstname.lastname@example.org

Among future fundraising events planned is Wells Has Talent, a talent competition which will be taking place at the theatre on April 7, with auditions on March 18.
Entries are invited from actors, singers, comedians, magicians, dancers and other performers. Top prize will be the chance to see Wells from a helicopter thanks to Navy Wessex.
More details and entry forms will be available on the theatre website soon.
Later in the year the theatre will be hosting a fundraising evening of sketches and songs with proceeds going to the seating fund.
