Website that helps in cheapest fuel search

April 27 2022

IN the latest Wells Voice there was an article on petrol prices and more transparency, with talk of an official fuel price search engine.

Varying petrol prices infuriate me. A company should have a set price they charge and they keep it the same everywhere. Why is it that petrol 10 miles away can be so much cheaper?

And did anyone notice when petrol shifted from being sold in gallons to litres, how much the variation changed? What used to be a 5p a gallon difference became a 5p a litre difference… around four times higher.

Anyway, returning to the pricing comparison, I use the following website and associated app to find the cheapest petrol in any local area. Other readers may wish to make use of this in the absence of any ‘official’ search engine – https://www.petrolprices.com/
