Wells Cathedral School GCSE results
PUPILS at Wells Cathedral School celebrated impressive GCSE results with the top A* grade awarded for over a quarter of all examinations taken by the students.
Over half achieved A* to A grades, with almost 80 per cent of all grades achieved by Wells students A* to B grades. The pass rate was 99.9 per cent.
Molly Hall from Litton achieved 11 A* grades, whilst Susanna Mackay and Catherine Stringer from Wells, both students who have focused on their instrumental music, received 10 A* grades.
A quarter of this year’s cohort achieved at least nine A* and A grades, with ten students awarded a full complement of A* and A grades, including Jane Lee and Madeleine Perring from Westbury-sub-Mendip.
Angus Lo was awarded 10 A* grades and a B; Alasdair Padgett from Wells 9 A* grades, an A and a B; Alanna Tibbs from Wells, 8 A*s, an A and a B; and Maxim Cooper from Wookey Hole 5 A*s, 5As and a B.
Principal Elizabeth Cairncross said: “Of course we’re proud of all this significant achievement and all the support from so many, staff and families, which has enabled our students. They can be very pleased with the fruits of hard work and commitment in areas they found challenging.”
