• Wells Natural History & Archaeological Society talk by Dominic Gwynn: Noble Instrument or Cuckoo Pipes?: The Church Organ and Church Music in Early Modern Somerset 1500-1800. Wells & Mendip Museum, 7.30pm. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served at the meeting. Members free, visitors £2.

December 8

• Wells Rotary Reindeer Parade event, 10.50am-2pm. Parade through the city starts at noon.

• Croscombe Christmas Market, Croscombe Village Hall, 10am-2pm. More than 26 stalls selling hand-made festive food and drink, gifts, local produce, cards, decorations and more. Live music, mulled wine, mince pies and lunches. Free parking and entry. More from Mary Cadogan on 01749 572875.
