• Recorders Incorporated, music from the Renaissance to the 21st century, St Cuthbert’s Church, Wells, 7.30pm. Tickets £10 (family tickets £30) on the door and in advance from the Church Office.

• The Bible and the Qur’an, a short course for beginners with Professor David Thomas, Canon Theologian, Cathedral Education Room, 2pm-4pm. £5 including tea. For further details see the Cathedral website

• Lunchtime organ recital by Richard Tanner (director of music, Rugby School), Wells Cathedral Quire, 1.05pm-1.40pm. Admission free. Retiring collection in aid of Wells Cathedral Music.

• Wells Labour Party Coffee Morning, The Lawrence Centre, Chamberlain Street, Wells, 10.30am-12.30pm. Drop in for a cup of tea or coffee, a piece of cake and the opportunity to have a friendly chat with like-minded people on topical issues.
