• Heritage Open Days until September 10. • Frank Judd, Lord Judd of Portsea, will be guest of honour at the Mid Somerset Oxfam Group’s Open Evening at Wells Museum. The evening will start at 6.30pm for 7pm and is entitled A Conversation with Lord Frank Judd.

September 9

• Medieval Falconry Day, The Bishop’s Palace, 10am-4pm.

• Wells Rotary Club and KhalsaAid are presenting a second Meet the Sikhs event from noon to 4pm on the Bishop’s Green. There will be turban tying, Panjabi folk dance, Dhol drumming, Sikh awareness, Panjabi traditional martial arts and free hot veggie food.

• ‘Time and the Stars’, a talk by Bob Mizon MBE, national coordinator for the Campaign For Dark Skies, on what was happening on Earth when the light from cosmic objects began its journey to us. The talk will be followed by observations of the night sky from this good dark sky site (weather permitting).
